OMS bags media duties for Yatra.com

OMS (Optimum Media Solutions), the specialist media independent belonging to the Mudra Group, has been appointed the media AOR for travel portal Yatra.com. The win was following a multi-agency pitch. Industry sources peg the size of the business in the region of Rs 8-10 crore. The scope of work involves media planning, buying and implementation.

The creative duties are being handled by Everest Advertising.

Giving the reason for chosing OMS as the media AOR, Dhruv Shringi, founder of Yatra.com, said, “OMS’ prior experience of having helped start-up companies grow at a rapid pace coupled with the business acumen exhibited by the OMS team were the key reasons for us deciding on OMS.”

Chandradeep Mitra, President, OMS, said, “Yatra.com has the right technology, management and marketing capabilities to be a leader in the rapidly growing and evolving travel portal market in India. We are proud to partner them in their ambitious, exciting journey.”

He further said, “It is a 360-degree account including TV, print, radio and the Internet. The TV ads have broken across channels including Sony, STAR Plus and Zee. Print ads are going to break in the first quarter of 2007. The radio spots will break at a later stage.”

Yatra.com, though a relative newcomer in the Indian travel portal space, has already created a mark with its consumer-friendly and competitive offerings, and introducing a number of industry firsts in the market.

Yatra joins the roster of a number of well-known clients handled by OMS, including Reliance ADAG, Paras, HBO, ICI Paints, Spice Telecom, Electrotherm, LIC, Panasonic, SBI, HPCL, Air India, Zenith Computers, MTDC, Amway, Ravissant, Grasim, TTK, Sify, Jyothi Laboratories, RmKV Silks, Amrutanjan, Nickelodeon, ACC Cements, Paragon, Olympus and Ajanta/Orpat Group.
