Omnicom to acquire majority stake in India’s Gotocustomer

Omnicom Group Inc has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority ownership interest in Gotocustomer Services India through its Diversified Agency Services group. Gotocustomer is a provider of field and retail marketing services to both national and multinational clients across India.

Headquartered in Delhi, Gotocustomer offers specialised services in the areas of field marketing, retail marketing and promotional events. Key clients include Microsoft, Pepsi, Philips, Intel and Idea Cellular, among others. The company has eight offices across India, with direct presence in more than 30 cities.

Commenting on the tie-up, Michael Birkin, Omnicom’s Vice Chairman and Chairman and CEO Asia Pacific, said, “I am delighted to be partnering with Gotocustomer. Field marketing is a key business for Omnicom globally. This relationship will enable us to provide our national and international clients in India the same best-in-class field marketing services that we offer on a global basis. The acquisition of Gotocustomer will complement our earlier investments across the Asia-Pacific region, giving us unparalleled retail competency across the region.”

“Gotocustomer has always created strong partnerships with its clients through pioneering technology-enabled execution platforms,” said Manpreet Singh, Executive Chairman of Gotocustomer. “With our extensive reach and in-house research and consumer insight programmes, Gotocustomer provides an ‘insourced’ marketing capability that helps our clients achieve nationwide market leadership. The partnership with Omnicom will enable us to foster even stronger client partnerships and broaden our expertise to new industries and clients.”
