OMD India bags Visa media mandate; ac size Rs 50 crore upwards

OMD India has bagged the media duties of Visa Inc. The account size is pegged in the vicinity of Rs 50-60 crore. The incumbent on the business was Media Direction.

Neither the client, nor the agency officials were available for comments, but it is understood that the move comes in the wake of a multi-agency pitch. Sources close to the development stated that OMD India has already begun its work for Visa Inc.

Visa’s advertising mandate has seen a lot of activity this year. It may be recalled that in March 2009, Visa Inc had unveiled its first global advertising campaign with the tagline ‘More people around the world go with Visa’, reflecting the company’s evolution to a single, global company. Prior to that, following a global alignment, TBWA Worldwide bagged the Visa Inc. account in the wake of a thorough review of Visa’s incumbent agencies.
