O&M wins Rachana Television creative duties; Rs 25-cr marketing spend earmarked

Rachana Television Pvt Limited, which is all set to roll out two satellite channels -- a 24-hour Telugu news channel, NTV, and a devotional channel ‘Bhakti’ -- by the end of June 2007, has roped in O&M as its advertising partner. There was no formal pitch involved for the business. Rachana Television chose O&M based on the agency’s track record.

The company has earmarked a Rs 25-crore marketing budget. They are yet to take a decision on the media agency.

Confirming the development, Ramanujan, CEO, Rachana Television, said an MoU with O&M has been signed for all promotional and advertising and brand building activities. A pre-launch campaign is in the pipeline made on a budget of Rs 1.5 crore.

Rani Reddy, Head of O&M Hyderabad, said, “Television as a medium, especially a news channel, is something very close to the people’s heart. Building a successful brand from the ground is something we like to do and we have been doing it successfully over the years.”

“We are all charged up to go to town with the pre-launch campaign. We have some exciting plans in the pipeline and are already working on the pre-launch campaign,” she said.
