O&M emerges Agency of the Year at Advertising Club Calcutta’s Creative Excellence Awards

O&M emerges Agency of the Year at Advertising Club Calcutta’s Creative Excellence Awards

O&M emerged as the Agency of the Year at the Advertising Club Calcutta Awards for Creative Excellence from the Eastern Region, which were held in Kolkata on February 10.

O&M bagged the maximum number of awards, including the Campaign of the Year in two major categories – Services and Retail – for work on Hutch and Steeljunction, the recently launched steel retail store from Tata Steel, respectively.

Bates, too, made its presence felt with four wins and six runners up positions, several of them for their work on Ananda Bazar Patrika.

Response won the Campaign of the Year in the popular FMCG category for their Puja campaign for Big Ones Ice Cream.

A ritual that was missed was a new induction into the Advertising Club Calcutta’s Hall of Fame, which has apparently been reserved for the Consumer Connect Awards planned in July 2006.

Sanjay Datta, President, Advertising Club Calcutta, observed, “We, being believers in advertising that connects with the consumers, our Consumer Connect Awards obviously has a pride of place in the value chain. Equally, the celebration of sheer creative genius is also important.”

It may not, however, be out of place to mention that though the awards were for work emanating from the East, including Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, most of the nominations were restricted to Kolkata based agencies and that, too, barring a couple of exceptions, to the big names.
