O&M Delhi’s Rohit Dhamija & Ritu Sinha to represent India at Cannes Young Lions Creative Competition

The O&M Delhi duo of Rohit Dhamija and Ritu Sinha has won the Young Lions Creative Competition (formerly known as the Young Creatives Competition) and will be representing India at Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival 2008.

The AAAI had conducted the Young Lions Creative Competition on May 21 with the support of The Times of India, which is the Indian Festival Partner of Cannes International Advertising Festival. The judging was held on May 26.

This year, the jury comprised Josy Paul, Chairman and National Creative Director, BBDO India; Narayan Kumar, Executive Director & Head of Disruption Practice, TBWA Anthem; and Ravi Deshpande, Chief Creative Officer, Contract Advertising.

The Young Lions Creative Competition is open to advertising professionals up to 28 years of age. The participating teams, comprising an art director and copywriter, are selected through a pre-selection process.

The theme for the competition this year was ‘Save the Tiger’. Participants were required to make a print ad on this topic and send in hard copies of the creative. These were in turn judged to bring forward the best of them all.

The response has been so tremendous, that this year the Cannes Lions Festival introduced the Young Lions Zone – an area dedicated to Young Lions and Student delegates, which gives them their own space to learn, debate, network and be inspired. The Young Lions Zone will feature a series of high-profile master classes presented by some of the biggest names in the industry such as David Droga, Bob Isherwood, Jim Stengel and Nick Law.
