Ogilvy and Mather emerged as the Agency of the year at EFFIEs 2012. The agency won 24 awards across various categories and including the prestigious Grand EFFIE award of the year. They won nine Gold, 11 Silver and three Bronze EFFIEs, thus reaching to a grand total of 280 points.
The campaigns that achieved Gold medals were Madhya Pradesh Tourism - Incredible India, Asian Paints Apex – Yeh Badhiya Hai, Fevicol - The ultimate bond-20 years and still growing strong, Satyamev Jayate - Managing a billion expectations (won in two categories), Fox Crime – The photograph’s case (won in two categories), Vodafone - Drive into the big league, and The Hindu – Undumb India.
‘Kuch Meetha Ho Jaaye – Cadbury Dairy Milk’s growth story from 2005 to 2012’ was awarded the Grand EFFIE of the Year.
While Ogilvy and Mather was ahead of the race with a royal total, McCann Worldgroup followed with 65 points (three silver and seven bronze) and Lowe Lintas and Partners followed with 60 points (three silvers and six bronze).
Though it did not make it to the top three, Taproot India bagged three Gold EFFIEs for its ‘Har ek friend zaroori hota hai’ campaign and achieved a grand total of 45 points. Following Taproot was Leo Burnett with eight Bronze EFFIEs.
The gap in the total scores of the next five entries reduced to 20 points. Jubilant Foodworks and JWT received a total score of 25 – while the former bagged a Silver EFFIE, JWT took home three Bronzes.
Happy Creatives, Meridian Communication, BBH Communication, Draftfcb Ulka and Mindshare followed with a total score of 15 points. While Happy Creatives and Meridian Communication bagged a Gold each, the others followed with Silver and Bronze EFFIEs.
