Following a multi-agency pitch, adidas India has appointed Ogilvy India to work on its new campaign for 2010. With the upcoming ICC World Cup 2010, the sportswear manufacturer wants to create a buzz with the new campaign. Ogilvy India will be working on the current project for 2010. TBWA\India is the incumbent agency.
Industry sources informed that the pitch process had involved the incumbent agency TBWA\India, along with Ogilvy India and Contract Advertising. However, there were other agencies involved too, but their names could not be ascertained. No official comments were available either at the time of filing the report.
Meanwhile, it is believed that Ogilvy India has already started work on the campaign.
Carat India is the media partner for adidas, while iris came on board in 2008 as the retail marketing partner. There will be no changes in these mandates.
It may be recalled that in 2007, adidas had roped in tennis star Sania Mirza as its global brand ambassador, who joined the long list of adidas superstars like David Beckham, Kaka, Lionel Messi, Zinedine Zidane, Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting.
