Now, you can make calls on the move sans a mobile phone

Hutch is following its tagline, ‘Wherever you go our network follows’, to the T. In its latest initiative, the mobile service provider has tied up with Mumbai’s public transport major BEST to provide PCOs on board its buses. The phones installed on them would be coin operated GSM phones, which would function like a PCO. Commuters can avail of local, STD and even ISD services through these phones.

Uttam Khobragade, GM, BEST, said, “Convenience of our commuters is a top priority for BEST and initiatives like these will reinforce our commitment to them. We have been working to provide such innovative services and will continue to do so with many more such conveniences.”

This association will lead to 1,700 PCO enabled BEST buses in the city. With this, Hutch now has two prominent positions – cheque collection boxes and now PCOs – on board the buses.

Talking about the association with BEST, Naveen Chopra, CEO, Hutch – Mumbai, said, “It has always been our endeavour to find the needs of our customers and fulfil them through new products and services. These two initiatives are two such steps in this direction.”

The event also saw the launch of new ‘Grab-handles’ on BEST buses.
