Nokia’s Sunil Dutt appointed Country Head for Samsung’s mobile business in India

Sunil Dutt has been appointed as Country Head for Samsung’s mobile business in India. Dutt will be in-charge of spearheading the sales and marketing function for both Samsung GSM and CDMA mobile businesses in the country. Dutt comes in from Nokia India where he was Director-Sales, and was responsible for driving sales and building the strong distribution and retail backbone of the company.

Welcoming Dutt on board, H B Lee, President and CEO, Samsung South West Asia, said, “We expect to fully leverage the huge potential of the telecom market in India with Dutt’s expertise and rich knowledge of the Indian market. I am confident that going forward, Samsung can achieve new levels of success for its mobile handset business in India.”

Dutt has 23 years of rich and varied work experience. He has earlier worked in organisations like Philips India, Wipro Ltd, Whirlpool and Barista.

Dutt has been actively involved with the growth of Indian mobile industry and has been one of the pioneers in building the channel and distribution for mobiles and also retail development for the mobile handset business in the country.
