New York Festivals announces first round of Executive Jury appointments

New York Festivals Word’s Best Advertising, now in its 57th year, has announced the first round of the 2014 Executive Jury appointments. For the fourth year in a row, New York Festivals will assemble a “dream team” of elite worldwide chief creative officers. They will all meet together on one panel in New York City from April 25 to 29 to select the world’s best advertising across all mediums.

“This year’s Executive Jury once again brings together the most innovative leaders in advertising that are responsible for the world’s most ground-breaking and highly awarded campaigns,” said Michael O’Rourke, President, New York Festivals. “As members of the Executive Jury, they join together to evaluate work across all competitions and categories, allowing them to curate a body of work that represents that year in advertising. These prominent creatives raise the bar by providing entrants the opportunity to have their work evaluated by this incredible brain trust.”

The first round of the 2014 Executive Jury includes:
Pancho Gonzales, Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer, Inbrax, Chile
Merlee Cruz-Jayme, Chairman & Chief Creative Officer, DM9 Jayme Syfu, the Philippines
James McGrath, Creative Chairman, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Australia
Debbi Vandeven, Chief Creative Officer, VML, USA
Stephane Xiberras, President & Chief Creative Officer, BETC Paris, France

Additional Executive Jury appointments are forthcoming.

The 30 members of the Executive Jury will evaluate every shortlisted entry selected by the online Grand Jury. With over 400 jury members representing more than 75 countries, New York Festivals has the largest and most diverse international jury in the world.

The 2014 New York Show will take place on May 1 and will feature creative panel discussions, keynote speakers, networking events, the awards ceremony, and an after-party to honour the winners. All New York Show events and the 2014 awards gala will take place at the New York Public Library’s Beaux-Arts landmark Stephen A. Schwarzman building located at 455 Fifth Avenue in New York City.

Since 1957, New York Festivals has received entries from over 75 countries in all media in categories such as – Avant-Garde, Branded Entertainment, Collateral & Direct, Creative Effectiveness, Design, Digital, Film & Film Craft, Integrated, Outdoor, Print, Public Relations, Public Service, Radio, and Student.

The 2014 competition entry deadline is January 31.
