Maruti Udyog has upgraded the existing version of Omni. To give a boost to this launch, a new television commercial has been prepared by Lowe.
Asked on the creative idea, Mohit Beotra, Delhi-Branch Head, Lowe, said, "The TVC has been shot in Mumbai and we have toyed around the idea that so many changes have been incorporated in the new version that the customer tends to forget something or the other."
Beotra said that the idea is to establish the fact that there are innumerable options available to the consumers now with the upgraded version of Omni. The 20-second television commercials will be backed with print and outdoor campaigns, he informed. The campaign is expected to hit on April 11.
In 2004-05, the company sold over 60,000 Omnis and this fiscal it plans to do better. Maruti Udyog spokesman said: "The Omni has been doing well consistently. The changes and the additional features in the new Omni are based on customer feedback and will further enhance the popularity of the vehicle."
The new Omni is priced at Rs 2.29 Lac (ex- show room, Delhi). The exterior has been revamped, interiors made aesthetically attractive and functionally more useful, and the technology been upgraded.
The new features that have been incorporated include front grille, clear lens headlamps, graphics on the side body and a new rear view mirror. The interior changes include two-tone seat upholstery and sporty new instrument cluster. The dashboard, which has been totally redesigned, enables more functional benefits: a glove box that can be locked, a cup holder, a new centre console with space for utility items, provision for stereo, electronic taxi meter etc. The engine has been upgraded to meet Bharat Stage III emission norms. Similarly, the new Omni has a headlamp-leveling device to meet contemporary standards.
The new Omni comes in new colours of crystal gold, icy blue, bright red and caribbean blue. This is in addition to the existing colours, silky silver and superior white.
