NEW Kaun Banega Crorepati 2 comes to the US from December 2

Popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati 2 is launching on STAR Plus in the US on DirecTV channel 2001 from December 2. KBC, India’s version of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’, was the show that changed the face of Indian television.

Bollywood megastar and KBC host, Amitabh Bachchan, was present at the event in New York to announce the US debut of KBC 2. STAR Plus will exclusively bring the show to DirecTV subscribers for the first time, starting December 2, every Friday to Sunday at 10:00pm (EST) / 7:00pm (PST).

“KBC and the host Amitabh Bachchan have captured the hearts of millions and broken ratings records in India,” said Ajay Vidyasagar, Executive Vice-President, Marketing and Communication, STAR India. “We are proud to bring this TV phenomenon to STAR Plus viewers on DirecTV, who can now see the magic of KBC for themselves along with the channel’s other quality programmes.”

“Our customers want quality and family entertainment, and we are certain that the launch of KBC, along with the variety of popular programming available on STAR Plus, will resonate with them,” said Aaron McNally, Vice-President, DirecTV International.

The hype surrounding the international phenomenon may have died down elsewhere, but Hindi-speaking audiences worldwide are lapping up the second chance to test their general knowledge and watch their idol, Amitabh Bachchan, host the show again.
