New Cannes 2006 : Rediffusion wins silver in Direct Lions Category, hopes for a win in Outdoor Lions

Rediffusion DY&R is ecstatic. It got India its first-ever silver nomination in the Direct Lions category. Its work on Midland Book Shop got the coveted DM Silver at Cannes 2006.

K S ‘Chax’ Chakravarthy, National Creative Director, Rediffusion DY&R, was all praise for Hemant Anant Jain, going to the extent of saying that “the work was a one-man show”. Said Chax to exchange4media, “This has been possible because of only one man’s passion. Hemant worked on it relentlessly and even though it was difficult at times, he persevered. He has done everything right from writing to typography and even working on the mailer.”

The Rediffusion DY&R crew has high hopes from the entry which is shortlisted even for the Outdoor category. The results for the category are to be announced tonight (Cannes time).

The work for Midland Book Shop has already been acclaimed at various award shows in India as well as abroad, including a win at D&AD and One Show, thus making it a Creative hat-trick. Said Chax, “Winning at Cannes has its own joy. It is indeed special.”
