NEW  OMS bags Spice Mobile’s Rs 12-crore media business; JWT wins creative account

Optimum Media Solutions, OMS, a division of Mudra Communications, has bagged the media duties of Spice Mobile, the mobile handset company of the B K Modi Group. Informed industry sources peg the account size in the region of Rs 12 crore plus. The creative business has been awarded to JWT, Delhi.

Exhilarated over the win, Madan Mohan Mohapatra, Regional Director, OMS, said, “We are delighted to partner Spice Mobile for its media launch across the country. I think our understanding and identification of the potential audience and markets for Spice Mobile has helped us winning this business. We are looking forward to some interesting and exciting work on the account.”

The pitch process, which began in the second week of June, saw three media agencies present their strategies for Spice Mobile. OMS ended up winner on the strength of their innovative strategy and will be responsible for the complete media planning and buying for the client.

This selection has been done after undergoing a rigorous pitching process involving a few other agencies. We appreciate the planning process followed in OMS and are confident that this would lead to efficient planning for the launch of Spice Mobile phones across the country. Being the first year of launch, we would require their support in cost-efficient media buying for effective usage of media.”

Spice Mobiles, which recently made its foray into the Indian market with a predominant presence in North, has roped in Priyanka Chopra as its brand ambassador and has plans to spread its presence across India by the end of the year.

Spice Mobile Phones is an M Corp Global venture, a leading transnational group with a $ 250 million turnover. The company plans to launch technologically advanced state-of-the-art mobile phones in the entry, mid and premium segment.
