The corporate advertising account of Goodlass Nerolac has moved to McCann Erickson, according to informed industry sources. Interface/FCB Ulka had earlier handled the Rs 10-crore plus creative business.
Incidentally, though the pitch process happened late last year, there was no change in the agency. It was only a few weeks ago that the paint major decided to move its portfolio from FCB Ulka/Interface to McCann and, according to the sources, the agency had already begun work on the account. Company officials were not available for comment at the time of filing this report.
Goodlass Nerolac Paints has been at the forefront of the paint industry for more than 84 years and has pioneered a wide spectrum of quality paints. It is the second largest paint company in India with a turnover of Rs 1,069 crore, and claims to be the undisputed leader in the industrial paints segment.
The company manufactures a diversified range of products ranging from architectural coatings for homes, offices, hospitals, and hotels to sophisticated industrial coatings for most industries.
Its key brands in the decorative paints segment are Nerolac Suraksha, Excel, Allscapes and Goody. Suraksha, which is the exterior paints brand, is one of the strongest in its portfolio. Excel, on the other hand, is the premium exterior paints brand, while Allscapes and Goody are interior paints brands.
Allscapes is a premium product, whereas Goody is a “value-for-money” brand. Earlier in the year, the company had identified Goody as a growth engine for the future.
