Neeraj Roy, MD and CEO, Hungama Mobile, has been chosen as one of the speakers at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Roy will be sharing his thoughts on the digital economy at the opening forum -- ‘Cinema: towards the audiences of tomorrow’.
As mentioned by Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi at the FICCI Frames 2007, India would be inaugurating Festival De Cannes with two days of film exhibitions. This honour has been bestowed to celebrate the co-anniversaries of 60 years of Indian audience and Festival De Cannes.
In his presentation on May 16, Roy will share his thoughts on how the fast-evolving digital economy is shaping new roles for directors, producers and distributors, while offering exciting opportunities to creators and audiences.
The Festival De Cannes is reportedly the privileged venue of both film discoveries and encounters, and reflects the dual nature of the cinema: art and industry. The official communiqué noted: “The role of the Festival de Cannes has thus grown rich over the course of the years, to the rhythm of the evolution of cinema itself: selecting and promoting films and artistes, welcoming professionals, developing new artistic initiatives -- ultimately, serving cinema in all its infinite dimensions.”
