MullenLowe Lintas Group retains title of  EFFIE  Agency of the Year

The Advertising Club (TAC) India hosted the 16th edition of the “EFFIE AWARDS INDIA 2016”  in Mumbai with over 1000 people from across the industry attending the prestigious event. 

Hindustan Unilever was adjudged as the EFFIE Client of the Year, while the MullenLowe Lintas Group, India was named Effie India Agency of the Year once again.  

The Grand EFFIE was won by The Leo Group India for Bajaj Motorcycles’ campaign "A bike that got people to experience national pride - The Nation's Bike, a campaign that was greatly appreciated and widely acclaimed.  

The MullenLowe Lintas Group bagged EFFIE Agency of the Year, this is the second year in a row the agency has won this title. 

The agency won 1 Gold and led the tally with a total of  182 points. The Gold award went for its 'Giving The Fight Against Dirt A Karmic Perspective' campaign for Surf Excel by HUL.

This was followed by Ogilvy & Mather, which ended the night with 171 points. Ogilvy also won 2 Gold metals and 7 Silver metals. It won Gold for 'Winning the 4G race without 4G'campaign by Vodafone India and 'Tayyari Jeet Ki' campaign for Bournvita by Mondelez India Foods.

McCann Worldgroup India, with 116 points and 3 Gold metals was the other big winner and grabbed the third spot.  Winning gold metals for 'How Maggi Won Back Indian Mom's Trust' campaign for Nestle India and 2 metals for 'Breaking India's dirty habit of open defecation' campaign for Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

In all, 101 metals were given away. This included 1 Grand Effie, 15 Gold, 36 Silver and 49 Bronze metals. 

Speaking about the changing dynamics of campaigns and the importance of being relevant Vikram Sakhuja,

2016 Awards Chairman, EFFIES, said, “The true mark of a successful campaign is its contribution towards achieving business objectives through impactful communication. The EFFIEs laud and recognize campaigns that have grown brands and business"

Elaborating further on the entries Mitrajit Bhattacharya, 2016 Awards Co-Chairman EFFIES said, “The EFFIEs 2016 will once again shine the spotlight on inventive, ambitious and successful brand-building efforts that are effective and have left an indelible mark on consumer mindsets.”

Speaking at the award ceremony Raj Nayak, President of The Advertising Club said, “The EFFIEs 2016 have been increasingly patronized owing to its support and recognition of campaigns that pack the combined punch of instinct with insight. I would like to congratulate the jury that has worked towards ensuring that inclusive campaigns that have resonance amongst consumers are adjudged the winners. “
