Mobile2Win brings Karaoke magic to mobile phones

Karaoke Machines, fun as they might be, are not always available to all. But what if we could carry one in our pockets and sing along at our convenience? Mobile2Win (M2W) has come up with the ‘Phone Karaoke’ application, where one can enjoy all the benefits of an actual Karaoke Machine, literally at the press of a button.

By capturing all the essential elements Karaoke in Java applets, including music, artwork and synchronised lyrics, this application unwires the Karaoke phenomenon, enabling mobile phone users the opportunity to sing along.

Said Rajiv Hiranandani, Country Head, Mobile2win India, “We are very excited about the first ever mobile Karaoke rollout in India. Mobile content in India is driven by music and we have brought together a unique mix of music and JAVA application into this product. There will be a huge demand for regional songs as well and we working closely with all operators to tap into their regional markets.”

Karaoke has become a significant cultural phenomenon in Asia, particularly in China, Japan and Korea. Given the tremendous success of mobile Karaoke in Korea, M2W is confident that the product will appeal to millions of Indian Karaoke fans as well.

Users of the new ‘Phone Karaoke’ product will be able to download the Karaoke application with a song in it onto their JAVA-enabled mobile phones for a per-download charge. Users will then be able to sing along with the polyphonic tunes of the song that they have downloaded while viewing pictures with rolling lyrics displayed on the screens of their handsets. Each application will have one song in it. Each ‘Phone Karaoke’ applet includes an attractive wallpaper that serves as a background to the music and lyrics as they are playing.

This application is compatible with a variety of handsets, thus increasing its reach to a vast number of users. M2W is ready to launch with approximately 150 popular English tracks and 70 Hindi songs. Besides these, M2W will also provide songs in regional languages like Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil and Telugu.
