After sifting through 50 agencies in almost a two month long process, Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has finalised on 15 agencies to take care of its advertising responsibilities. The account size is pegged at Rs 70 crore.
The agencies that have been given the letter are O&M, Grey Worldwide, Lintas IMAG, Leo Burnett, R K Swamy BBDO, Crayons Advertising, India Tourism Development Corporation - Ashok Creative Division, F.S Advertising, BAG, Square Communication, Vivid India, Pamm Advertising, Opal Advertising, Span Communications and Centum Advertising.
The tender for the agencies was invited early this year and pitch processes began in March 2005. The agencies have been empanelled for three years. The media counterparts of these agencies will take care of the media duties for the MoT. As is the case with most empanelments, preceding every campaign, these agencies will be called for a presentation and one or two agencies would be assigned the task of that campaign.
R K Swamy BBDO’s Ajit Shah is sure excited with the win. Said he, “We are thrilled and looking forward to doing some great work for them.” He explained that R K Swamy’s work with the Buddhism campaign has also played a role in nabbing this win for them. Shah added, “Not to mention, this is a very prestigious client too.”
