There were no surprises at the Emvie Awards 2009, which were held in Mumbai on August 21, 2009. There were 59 shortlisted entries competing for the Emvies. Over 450 entries were received this year for the Emvie Awards 2009, which are organised by the Advertising Club of Bombay. A total of 45 awards were given away.
Mindshare, which won the Media Agency of the Year Award, scored a total 100 points and won two Golds, four Silvers and six Bronzes. Sister agency Maxus followed with 70 points and two Golds, three Silvers and two Bronzes.
Interestingly this year, unlike previous years, Madison Media entries were divided between its two units – Madison Media Infinity and Madison Media Plus. Even as the combined win of the two would have had been 75 points, which would have taken the agency ahead of Maxus, after this division, Madison Media Infinity has taken the third spot with 65 points. Their metal tally includes one Gold, four Silvers and two Bronzes.
Fourth in the top order was Lodestar Universal with 55 points with two Golds, two Silvers and one Bronze.
Mudra Max was next with a total of 50 points and two Golds and two Silvers.
Mediacom Media had a total of 30 points coming from three Silvers, which placed it on the sixth position.
In the seventh position was Mediaedge:cia, which had one Silver and one Bronze, giving it a combined score of 15 points.
Madison Media’s second half – Madison Media Plus – won one Silver, giving it a total of 10 points.
Following these were Tribal DDB India, Mates-Madison, TME, Digital Radio with one Bronze each, giving each a total of five points.
