Commenting on the judging process, Ashish Bhasin, Chairman, India & CEO South East Asia, Aegis Media Group said, “The judging process has gone digital this year. Right from the entries that we received on a USB drive to the whole process of calculating, everything is digital. A total number of 50 agencies had submitted entries this year. We have also received entries from Sri Lanka from amongst the South Asian countries. Overall, there has been a 5-10 per cent increase in the number of entries this year.” The scoring and tallying have all been digitised. The jury had been given laptops on which they would score the entry, which would directly go the software for tabulation and calculation of results. The software also tracks patterns to avoid any kind of malpractices and checks for duplication.

“GoaFest 2012 saw participation of around 3,167 delegates. We are certain that the number is going to increase this year. There have been a lot of entries from Sri Lankan agencies this year. Along with the awards in each category, there would also be a Grand Prix for all the nine verticals, along with a Grand Prix for Media,” added Bipin Pandit, Chief Operating Officer of The Advertising Club.

The final judging process for the Media Abby Awards will be held on the March 8, 2013. The Media Awards will be held on April 5, 2013, along with Digital, Design and Direct. All other Creative awards will be held on April 6.
