Mindshare, the global media agency network, that is part of WPP, has appointed Susan Chao to the role of Managing Director for Taiwan, and expanded the remit of Amrita Randhawa to include Hong Kong and Taiwan as CEO of Greater China.
Chao brings a great digital sense, marketing expertise, an entrepreneurial attitude, and depth of experience in the Taiwan market. She started her career at Hachette Filipacchi Media, where she set up the Taiwan licensing business operations for ELLE, launched their first e-commerce site, and managed every aspect of the business. Before joining Mindshare she was the Regional Marketing Director at VF Corporation, where she oversaw marketing, CRM and media for the Timberland brand across 18 markets in Asia Pacific.
Chao will jointly report to A.P. Lin, CEO of GroupM Taiwan, and Amrita Randhawa, who is promoted to the role of CEO, Mindshare Greater China.
Ashutosh Srivastava, CEO, AMEA & Russia/CIS, said, “Everyone at Mindshare in Taiwan and across our region is thrilled to have Susan join us. Her experience, enthusiasm, and passion for digital marketing and communications innovation makes her the ideal person to partner with Amrita to bring Mindshare’s Adaptive Marketing proposition to life for our clients in Taiwan.”
Randhawa also commented on the appointment stating, “Taiwan is the birthplace of Mindshare. It is fantastic, as we step into our 20th year as a company, that we have dynamic new leadership in this market to take us to the next level. I am really looking forward to working with Susan on our clients’ business, and I am confident that the coming years will be our best yet.”
“Taiwan is leading the region in terms of the adoption of social media, gaming, and new media behaviors. This creates incredible new opportunities for all of our GroupM agency clients – but also requires fresh perspectives from both inside and outside our industry. With her client-side marketing experience and digital expertise, Susan is well positioned to help Mindshare’s clients navigate these new challenges. It’s a pleasure to have her as part of our team,” added Lin.
