Mediaedge:cia bullish about digital plans with MEC Interaction; appoints National Director

Post the launch, Mediaedge:cia is now looking at more for key engine growth in its digital plans. As the first step towards this direction, MEC Interaction, the digital arm of Mediaedge:cia, has beefed up its team by roping in Vamsi Vanka as National Director, effective November 26, 2008.

Speaking on the future plans of MEC Interaction, T Gangadhar, Managing Director, MEC India, said, “We are very committed to our plans regarding investing in the right resources. Our core communication principle at MEC operates on active engagement. Planning our communication in the right way has always helped the agency to offer effective strategies.”

He further said, “However, digital plays a critical role in our media strategy. And thus, we at MEC will leave no stone unturned to attract best resources. Hence, we look at aggressive growth, making MEC Interaction our key engine in the digital space.”

On Vanka’s appointment, Gangadhar said, “We are delighted to have Vamsi on board. Given the rapidly changing business and consumer landscape, MEC Interaction is fully committed to delivering high quality thought-leadership in the digital space, and Vamsi’s rich experience will be handy.”

Vanka, who replaces Biraja Swain who had headed MEC Interaction, will be responsible for delivering best-in-class digital strategy to MEC’s clients. He will be reporting to Gangadhar.

Some of the clients that the agency handles include LG, Sony Ericsson, Nivea, and Tata AIG, among others.

MEC Interaction is the digital arm of Mediaedge:cia and its services include digital strategy, website design, e-commerce consulting, email and mobile campaign management and reporting and analytics.
