MEC will bring out its fourth edition of ‘MEC IPL TVR prediction study’ to ‘MEC IPL TV Rating prediction study’ that will forecast the viewing habits of DLF IPL Season 5 on April 02, 2012.
The study, which is powered by Meritus Analytics India, a WPP company also takes into account viewing habits of T-20 enthusiasts influenced by cricket fatigue, team popularity, player popularity and scheduling of matches.
MEC has been undertaking this study on the viewership expectations of Indian Premiere League (IPL) for three years now.
“With investments in IPL being significant, the ability to accurately estimate viewership is a huge advantage to all stakeholders. We have used a combination of primary consumer research and strategic factor modelling to arrive at the TV ratings,” said T Gangadhar, Managing Director, MEC India.
With Indian cricket team’s dismal performance in the previous few cricket tournaments, advertisers and media experts are keeping their fingers crossed about the viewership and popularity of season five of DLF IPL.
MEC also releases a post IPL consumer research that provides pointers on brand recall of IPL advertisers during the season and consumers’ interest in future editions of the IPL.
