McCann Erickson's Ashish Chakravarty slated to return to Contract

Ashish Chakravarty, Chief Creative at McCann Erickson Delhi has put in his papers and is on his way to Contract Advertising as National Creative Director, as per highly placed industry sources.

Chakravarty has been with McCann Erickson for over five years now. He is no stranger to Contact Advertising either as he was with the agency before joining McCann.

Chakravarty was Vice President Creative, and was heading Creative for Contract Delhi in his earlier avatar at the agency.

Chakravarty’s earlier assignments include a year’s stint at Publicis, a four-year tenure at Euro RCSG and McCann Erickson, and a short stint at TBWA India. He started his career with JWT India as Copy Writer.

His appointment comes on the back of the recent announcement of the agency’s Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Ravi Deshpande’s departure at the end of June this year. Whether Chakravarty’s appointment is the first of many more changes to come at Contract Advertising to strengthen the leadership team post Deshpande’s departure remains to be seen.
