Day 2 of GoaFest 2010 saw the announcement of the winners of the highly anticipated Media Abbys. Maxus scored the maximum with 11 metals comprising one Gold, five Silver and five Bronze Abbys.
Lodestar Universal won three Golds for the Best use of Newspaper and Magazine, Best Use of Radio and Best Use of Mix Media.
Mudra Max won three Golds for the Best use of television, Best Use of Outdoor & Ambient Media and Best Use of Special Events & Stunts/Live Advertising.
Mindshare won two Golds for Best Use of Internet & Digital Media and Best Use of Never Before Media; while Maxus bagged one Gold in the category of Best Use of Radio.
This is the second time that the Media Abbys are being awarded at GoaFest. A total of 484 entries were received – a 15 per cent increase from last year’s entries. A total of 81 entries were shortlisted in Round 1 by a jury of 51 judges. A total of 39 Media Abbys were awarded this year out of which there were nine Gold, 14 Silver and 16 Bronze Abbys.
The 14 categories that were judged for the final rounds were Best use of Television, Best use of Cinema, Best use of Newspapers and Magazines, Best use of Outdoor and Ambient media, Best use of Special events & stunt/ live advertising, Best use of Radio, Best use of Internet and Digital Media, Best Use of Sponsorship, Best use of Branded Content, Best use of Mix Media, Best use of Never Before Media, Best use of Youth Marketing, Best use of Pro-Bono Marketing and Best use of Vertical Marketing.
In the Best Use of Television category, Mudra Max won a Gold for Big Picture’s entry for the movie ‘Paa’.
The Best use of Newspaper & Magazine saw Lodestar Universal win a Gold for Tata Nano – How we did it uncommonly.
Mudra Max bagged a Gold medal for the Aircel – ‘History in the making’ campaign in The Best Use of Outdoor & Ambient Media category and also the Best Use of Special Events & Stunts/ Live Advertising.
The Best use of Radio saw two Gold winners – Maxus for Vodafone and Lodestar Universal for Tata Nano (which also won Gold for Best use of Mix Media).
Mindshare bagged two Golds for the Nike - ‘Coming to life with a code’ campaign – one in the Best Use of Internet & Digital Media category and another in the new category of Best use of Never Before Media.
