The creative duo of Manish Bhatt and Raghu Bhat are all set for their own creative hot shop. It may be recalled that Manish Bhatt had quit Contract Advertising as Senior VP and ECD in October 2009 to pursue his political dreams in his home state of Gujarat. Close on the heels of Bhatt putting in his papers, his partner, Raghu Bhat, too, bid adieu as Senior Vice-President and Executive Creative Director at Contract Advertising.
At that time, both had made it clear that they were not quitting from the advertising industry, but would return as partners.
The new creative shop will be situated in Fort, Mumbai. According to some media reports, the duo had been in talks with various national and international networks for tie-ups or partnerships, including names like Naked Communications and Strawberry Frog. Industry sources now say that Concept Communications is backing the new venture.
Neither Bhatt nor Bhat could be contacted for further details on the new venture at the time of filing this report. The name of the new creative hot shop also could not be ascertained.
Bhatt had begun his career in advertising in 1995 with Contract, where he was for three years. Following that, he has been associated with agencies like Ogilvy India, Publicis Ambience and McCann Erickson as Art Head, besides a one-year stint with Bates Clarion. In 2007, Bhatt returned to Contract for a second stint.
Raghu Bhat’s advertising career spans 13 years. He has worked with agencies like Contract Delhi, Ogilvy, Ambience Publicis and McCann Erickson. Along with his partner Manish Bhatt, he had forged a highly fruitful partnership, leading to market share building campaigns.
In the meanwhile, Bhat has been involved in building his maiden venture, Fungus Design, which deals in manufacturing and marketing designer laptop bags. Moreover, Bhat has been assisting his wife, Prachi Bhat, in her boutique, Taxxi and Vitamin K store (Mumbai), where he plays the role of branding advisor.
