BharatMatrimony has called for a creative pitch and the agencies in contention for the account include Lowe, O&M, JWT and Grey Worldwide, according to highly placed sources. It may be recalled that BharatMatrimony had called for a multi-agency pitch in August 2006, following which Network Advertising was roped in as creative agency. The account size during the last pitch was in the region of Rs 25 crore. It is not known whether there is a revision in the ad spend now. The media duty of the matrimonial portal is handled by Starcom.
Repeated efforts to elicit a comment from P Gopalakrishnan, Chief Marketing Officer, BharatMatrimony Group, did not yield any result. A decision on the creative agency is expected in the next 10-15 days.
The BharatMatrimony Group was one of the earliest enterprises in the online space in India. Having started in 1997 with Bharatmatrimony.com, the Group today has expanded to other verticals with ClickJobs.com, IndiaProperty.com, IndiaAutomobile.com, SMS5050.com, Indiapages.com and IndiaList.com.
