Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has awarded the creative duties of its soon-to-be-launched Swift Sedan to Lowe Delhi. The size of the business is in the region of Rs 15-20 crore. Sources close to the development have confirmed the news. Lowe bagged the account in a multi-agency pitch that also involved O&M, Hakuhodo Percept and Capital Advertising.
The first car launch of 2008 from the Maruti stable, the Swift Sedan would be the auto major’s second sedan, the first being the SX4. According to media reports, Maruti would be launching the petrol version of Swift Sedan by March 2008, while the diesel version is expected to hit the roads by the end of 2008.
Sources said that the campaign for Swift Sedan would involve a 360-degree initiative comprising print, TV, OOH and the Internet.
At the time of filing the report, neither Maruti officials nor Lowe officials were available for comments.
Hakuhodo Percept was given the creative duties for the company’s re-entrant in the SUV market – the refurbished Grand Vitara, the Escudo. Hakuhodo has been handling the duties for Maruti 800 and Wagon R as well. The revamped Baleno, the SX4, was launched in May 2007 and its creative business was awarded to Lowe, making it the fifth Maruti brand in the agency’s basket, the other four being the Omni, Alto, Esteem and Versa. O&M is in charge of the Zen Estilo account, while Capital is handling the Swift account.
