London Intl Ad Awards: Nine Indian finalists and one winner

With nine finalists at the 20th London International Advertising Awards, India can look forward to a winter of content. While JWT leads with four entries, RMG David has three entries, and O&M and Dentsu one entry each. It is learnt that there is one winner from among the nine finalists, however, the identity of the winner could not be ascertained.

Four of the finalist entries from India are in the Print category, and include JWT Chennai’s Public Service/Social Welfare campaign for Red Cross, titled “When you give, we give”, which won the Silver at Cannes Lions earlier this year. RMG David, Delhi has one finalist in the Print category, also a Public Service/Social Welfare campaign for WWF, “Carbon Paper”.

Dentsu, Delhi is in the race for Copywriting for Female Infanticide, with “Lizard”. As reported by exchange4media earlier, JWT, Bangalore is among the finalists for two campaigns, one of them in the Consumer Campaign space for the “Food tastes better with Kingfisher” work for Kingfisher Lager.

In the Below the line / Collateral category, JWT, Bangalore’s Point-of-Purchase work for Dockers is in with a nomination, while RMG David, Delhi has got a nomination for its Corporate Identity work for Tony Ray Business Card entry, “Divorce”.

And in the Poster and Outdoor category, JWT, Chennai’s Red Cross piece is in as another finalist entry for ‘Give’. A second finalist here is from O&M for its Poster Campaign for Fevicol Adhesive – the series “Feviloc”, “Familicol”, and “Fevibone”.

The third finalist in this category from India is from RMG David, Delhi again, for its WWF-Painted Trees series of “Tiger”, “White Leopard”, and “Spotted Deer”.

None of the Indian entries have made it to the finalists list in the other categories of Interactive media, Integrated media, Package Design, Radio and TV/Cinema.

The winners will be announced on November 7 at the awards ceremony in London. At last year’s awards, there were two winning entries from India, one each from JWT, Bangalore and RMG David, Delhi – for their campaigns for Levi’s and WWF-India, respectively.
