Lekha Advertising, a 28-year old Chennai-based advertising and marketing agency, is aggressively developing business on the digital space. The expected investment for the agency’s e-venture is estimated to be around Rs 8 crore, out of which Rs 2 crore will be the marketing spends for coming year.
A TVC along with an OOH campaign is expected to be rolled out later this year. The campaign will be designed by the in-house team of Lekha Advertising. The website will soon have an events and restaurant catalog too.
Lekha Advertising is known to create some effective campaigns for popular Chennai-based brand Idhayam Oil for more than two decades. The agency launched Lekhafoods five months ago with an aim to draw food lovers from across the world to a one-stop shop to feed their zeal. Apart from Lekhafoods, there are is an online book store, online travel agency and online hospital in the pipeline, which are expected to go live later this year.
Commenting on the new initiative, Lekha Rathnakumar, Founder and CEO, Lekha Advertising, said, “The focused aim to get into an e-venture is to reach out to varied consumer profiles with various services. I am looking at generating rich content and improve traffic for Lekhafoods and then putting it forward to prospective advertisers. Harshitha Health Care is another project that I believe is one-of-its-kind in India. It will be a multi-specialty online hospital, which will be launched in July 2012, along with Cure Diabetic in the next phase. We will have world class consultants from across the globe. The turnover is expected to be around $1,800,000 per annum.”
