Law & Kenneth has formally announced the opening of its Delhi
operations with Charu Bakshi as the head of the new unit. Bakshi comes
to Law & Kenneth with 20 years of experience at O&M and Grey. The
22-member Delhi team of Law & Kenneth has already signed on Ray Ban
and JVC. Ray Ban was earlier handled by Capital Advertising. With
this, Law & Kenneth will be the creative agency of Ray Ban while the
Carat will continue to be Ray Ban's media agency.
Confirming the news, Anil Nair, COO,
Law & Kenneth, said, “Though we had some
representation in Delhi, but this is the first
full-fledged office of Law & Kenneth in the Capital.
Charu Bakshi, who is a creative person, will lead the
team. We have already acquired Ray Ban and JVC. Though
JVC has been around in India for some time now, it has
not been very active. But now, with their range of
consumer electronics, there will be lots of action on
“Delhi is a key market for us and we
have big plans for that market, and we have ensured a
good team. There are about eight creative and 10
servicing people already working in the Delhi office
which is just about a week old,” Nair said.
JVC was established in 1927 and with the digital age
changing the way information and entertainment are
being experienced. JVC Asia intends to fast position
itself as a leading entertainment solution company in
Asia. JVC has eight sales subsidiaries in Asia,
Oceania, the Middle East and Africa and collaborate
with seven other manufacturing companies.
The total eye care market in India is
pegged at around Rs 150 crore, of which Ray Ban claims
upwards of 50 per cent share in the premium segment.
