The events industry is seeing more than its share of action. In a significant development, Lakme India Fashion Week (LIFW) has moved from IMG to Percept D’ Mark. The official signing of papers at the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) will be done today.
LIFW has been one of the key clients of IMG and the most important annual B2B fashion event, conceived with the primary objective of creating business relationships and facilitating a dialogue between designers, trade buyers and the media.
Ever since the inception of the event in 2000, LIFW has been under the supervision of IMG. The title sponsor of the event, Lakme, was also roped in by IMG. Sources informed that with this development, no change would be seen on that front. IMG has been handling all the commercial aspects and management of LIFW.
Percept D’ Mark has made its presence felt strongly in the market recently by organising various kinds of musical and Bollywood related events. LIFW is quite a catch in its kitty.
With LIFW, FDCI, the apex body representing the Indian fashion industry, carries forward its objective of using LIFW as a platform for the overall development of the fashion design industry.
Over the years, FDCI has used LIFW to effectively promote the concept of designer prêt labels amongst retailers, merchandisers, corporates and the general public, in order to achieve its final objective of promoting ‘Affordable Fashion’.
