Yum Foods’ Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is set to make a splash again in the Indian market. For this, it has signed on FCB-Ulka as its creative partner and Lodestar as its media partner. However, details like the account size are yet to be finalised. The choice of agency in India is in alignment with KFC’s global account, which is handled by FCB.
Meanwhile, the media and creative duties for Pizza Hut, the other division of Yum Foods in India, are being handled by MindShare and JWT, respectively.
Elated over the win, Shashi Sinha, President, Lodestar Media, said, “KFC is a very prestigious client to have and is a great addition to our current client portfolio. They have aggressive plans for the country and we are looking forward to doing some great work with them.”
Unlike what is seen in most international markets, where the Yum Foods brands – Taco Bells, KFC and Pizza Hut – are handled by the same agency, in India the brands are being handled by different agencies. Officials close to the situation divulged that this would be the case for some more time in this market.
