KFC releases first TV ad in India

Restaurant chain KFC has released its first TV advertising campaign in India. KFC’s proposition is the tempting taste of the hot and crispy chicken, which is depicted in this ad.

Unnat Varma, Director Marketing, Yum! Restaurants International, said, “We are delighted to announce KFC’s first ad in India. KFC targets the young at heart -- college goers, young working adults, and youthful, fun-loving families, and teenagers. Our first ad demonstrates our commitment to India and is a reflection of the youthful spirit that epitomises a brand like KFC.”

The TV ad depicts a young sardar by the name Bunty, who decides to surprise his girlfriend by proposing to her. To make the moment special, he takes her to KFC. However, a plate of tempting KFC’s Hot & Crispy chicken adds an unusual twist to the story. Bunty forgets his proposal and instead digs into the enticing food, while his girlfriend waits with bated breath.

The campaign will run nationally across major satellite channels in prime time slots until the end of June 2007.
