JWT Delhi has undergone some restructuring following Prashant Pandey’s departure from the agency. Pandey had put in his papers after a 12-year stint with JWT to join GlaxoSmithKline as Manager, Marketing. He had been handling the Horlicks account as well as the entire GSK portfolio at JWT. Debarpita Banerjee and Subho Sengupta, Associate Vice Presidents and Client Services Directors, will now handle Pandey’s portfolio at JWT.
Commentng on the development, Rohit Ohri, Managing Partner, JWT Delhi, said, “I believe that the function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers. Prashant Pandey, Business Unit Head at JWT, did just that. As he moves on to an exciting new role at GSK, he leaves behind at JWT a fine crop of leaders who will now start from where he left off. Debarpita Banerjee and Subho Sengupta, both Associate Vice Presidents and Client Services Directors, will manage Pandey’s portfolio of brands comprising GSK, Airtel DTH, Monster.com and SBI Cards.”
Banerjee has been with JWT for over five years, while Sengupta has been with JWT for a little over a year. According to the agency, this restructuring was a testimony to the fact that JWT had a rich pool of talent that fed the agency’s aggressive ambitions.
