With the Lok Sabha elections slated for April-May 2009, hectic political activities are underway. Buoyed by its performance in the Assembly Elections held last year, Congress party is all charged for the Lok Sabha polls and has appointed JWT Delhi and Crayons to handle the all-India advertising mandate for the polls. The account size has been pegged at Rs 200 crore. Official sources close to the development have confirmed the news.
Both the agencies will work on a 360-degree multimedia campaign comprising print, radio, TV, and OOH. The campaigns will break in March and continue till May, when the voting starts for the Lok Sabha elections.
It may be recalled that JWT Delhi and Crayons Delhi had won the advertising mandate for the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) in November 2008. On the basis of their work for DPCC, the two agencies were awarded the mandate for the party’s Lok Sabha campaign.
It is learnt that no formal pitch was called for the account. The work that the two agencies would be doing would be split in a week’s time.
