JWT Bangalore gets a new address

JWT Bangalore, which will be completing three decades in Bangalore, and more than 25 years in its old office on Residency Road, has finally moved to a more contemporary and spacious new office at Embassy Heights on Madras Road. The new office was inaugurated by Colvyn Harris, CEO, JWT India. The 12,000 sq feet office will now house JWT, RMG Connect (Direct marketing, CRM and Digital solutions arm) and IPAN (PR arm) under one roof.

Speaking on the move, Rajesh Gangwani, Senior VP, JWT Bangalore, said, “We have been on the lookout for a new space for a year now as we have expanded over the last few years and our creaking old office could not support us with the required infrastructure and power. Also, we wanted greater synergies between all our three offerings, which can be felicitated if we are sitting together. We hope to reinforce our 360-degree offering and leverage it to JWT’s advantage.”

So, while everyone is talking of cutting costs, is moving to a new office a good option in times of recession? Gangwani clarified, “I think it’s a good way to start a new year as a new place always boosts people’s spirits and brings in new and fresh energy.”

While inaugurating the new office, Harris, too, spoke about the change and positive energy that JWT Mumbai saw when it moved to a new address and hoped that Bangalore would replicate the same.

The office, which will seat about 75 people, boasts of a colourful décor with a dash of orange everywhere and has a vibrant feel to it. As part of the inauguration, employees were asked to design concept, logo and name for a room that’s otherwise called Idea Room. The winning entry named it ‘Buzz Stop’ as it is a room buzzing with ideas. The room sports a green carpet to give it a feel of being outdoors with low and colourful seating, music, newspapers and magazines and the works to stimulate ideation. There is also a recreation space with carrom board and dart board in place. Plus there is a performance zone, which will see the employees exhibit their skills every Friday.

Gangwani terms 2008 as a good year for JWT Bangalore, where in the early part of the year they had won businesses including ING Bank and Brigade Real Estate, among others. He added, “We celebrated the moving to our new office by having a party with the theme of shedding old look and getting a new avatar. We believe that a new outlook or new avatar is required to meet the challenges and develop new capabilities in 2009, and this is a good beginning to fulfil that vision.”

The new address is:
