JWT’s Prahlad Nanjappa ventures out on his own with Fryed

Prahlad Nanjappa, former Vice President and Senior Creative Director, JWT Bangalore, has started his own venture called Fryed. The agency will be offering advertising, design and web solutions. He has partnered with Karan Doshi, his former colleague from JWT, for this venture.

Elaborating on the venture, Nanjappa said, “There is an excitement which usually is around any start-up and we are raring to do some good work. The idea is to get out of the strict lines that a formal agency set-up allows and get into a set-up that provides flexibility and gives room to innovative thinking. We are also looking forward to doing some out-of-the-box thinking in the field of product designing.”

He further explained, “We have named the agency Fryed, but there is no logic behind it, and that’s the way we want to go forward, that is to look for reason in the illogical. There is apprehension of venturing on one’s own, but I do hope that I don’t have to go back to the agency set-up again. I’ve been there and done that and would rather do something new.”

Nanjappa has spent the last six years with JWT Bangalore. He had earlier worked with agencies like Grey, Enterprise Nexus, and Ogilvy. He has worked on brands such as Levis, Nike, ING, USL, and Brigade Group, among others.
