Josy Paul on BBDO Asia's Creative Council

Josy Paul, Chairman & NCD, BBDO India, has been appointed to the BBDO Asia Creative Council. Chris Thomas, Chairman & CEO, BBDO Asia, has confirmed this development to exchange4media.

Thomas informed that the BBDO Asia Creative Council existed as a resource to the Executive Creative Directors of each of the markets as guides and mentors. The Creative Council comprises David Guerrero, Chairman, BBDO Guerrero, in the Philippines; Khun Suthisak Sucharittanonta, Chairman, BBDO Thailand; and Danny Searle, Chairman, BBDO Singapore. Now, Paul will form a part of this team.

“Josy will now form a part of that team, which is a collection of hugely talented individuals, to help and ensure we deliver on our creative vision around The Work, The Work, The Work,” Thomas said, adding, “Josy is the latest addition to the Creative Council, he replaces Ronald Ng of BBDO Malaysia, who moved to New York to work with David Lubars.”

The Creative Council meets three to four times a year to review the region’s output and then the team runs a creative competition across the network once a quarter, which they judge, and they are happy to advise individual campaigns on improving awards entries and finding talent.

Thomas stressed, “We don’t believe in regional or global creative directors – as BBDO likes to assemble the best creative talent in every market in the world. The Council is there to help, support and inspire that talent.”

With yet another Indian professional in the international radar, when asked how one validated Indian creativity following this development, Thomas replied, “Indian creativity needs little validation. Josy is highly respected in India and admired within the BBDO network. He sets high standards and is a great leader.”

When asked in what ways Paul would be contributing to the Council across Asia, Thomas quipped, “He will be bringing his wit, wisdom, huge talent – and his hat!”

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
