Jockey scouts for creative partner

Page Industries Ltd, the exclusive licensee of Jockey International Inc. (USA) in India, is on the lookout for a creative partner for the innerwear and leisurewear brand, exchange4media has learnt from sources close to the development. The pitch is currently underway in Bangalore and agencies are presenting to the client on an invitation basis. The size of the business could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

Mudra, awarded the creative mandate in 2009, had come out with the ‘Just Jockeying’ campaign.

Jockey is manufactured and distributed by Page Industries Ltd in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, the Republic of Maldives, and the UAE. The brand is distributed in India across close to 20,000 retail outlets in 1,200 cities and towns with 70 exclusive brand outlets. The Rs 491-crore company has also introduced the Jockey Sport sub-brand in India, making an entry into the sports and leisure wear segment. Page Industries became a publicly listed company on the BSE and NSE in 2007.

In July this year, Page Industries entered into an agreement with Speedo International Ltd (UK) to become the exclusive licensee to manufacture, market and distribute the leading swimwear brand in India. The product line for Speedo will include swimwear, water shorts, apparel, equipment, and footwear, available in stores from 2012.
