Omnicom Media Group, the media services division of Omnicom Group Inc has named Torie Henderson as CEO of Omnicom Media Group South East Asia and India. Henderson, who moves into the new role from her position as President, Global Account Management, Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific, replaces Jasmin Sohrabji, who has been appointed to a global leadership role with Omnicom Media Group.
In 2007 Sohrabji took up the challenge of setting up OMD in India. In less than a year, OMD India was awarded a Grade A by RECMA, the first agency to achieve a launch year A grade. In late 2013, she launched Omnicom’s second media agency – PHD India, which has been gaining strength, momentum, winning business and recognition. Following the success of OMG India, in 2013 Sohrabji was given the additional responsibility of CEO of OMG South East Asia. Her success in the SE Asia includes the turnaround of the Thailand and Philippines operations as well as the phenomenal growth of Indonesia. Over her 25+ years in the media industry, she has gained vast experience across not just strong CPG brands, but a wide range of sectors and brands including Intel, Apple, Sony Entertainment Network, Renault, Nissan, HP, HTC, Ferrero, etc.

During her 11-year tenure with Omnicom Media Group, Henderson has held a number of leadership roles, including heading OMD International in Hong Kong and serving as the CEO of Omnicom Media Group Singapore. An advocate for service excellence, innovation and ground-breaking media partnerships, Henderson helped grow the breadth of Omnicom Media Group’s client roster while also expanding the depth of its existing relationships with leading regional and global marketers. A strong believer in the value of training and mentoring as a critical component of organizational effectiveness, she has served as the Chairperson for Campaign Asia Pacific’s MediaWorks programme for four consecutive years.
Defining her priorities in her new role, Henderson said, “Over the past several years, Omnicom Media Group agencies in South East Asia and India have delivered strong and consistent growth, as well as many of the industry’s most award winning campaigns – my priority will be on developing the tools and talent required to accelerate growth, drive innovation and inspire creativity.”
Henderson will be based in Singapore, reporting directly to Chiang.
