Jacqueline Fernandez to be the brand ambassador  for The Body Shop

The Body Shop has roped in Jacqueline Fernandez as their brand ambassador.  This announcement would come a week after The Body Shop’s online portal for Indian consumers to buy products online was launched. Foraying into the e-commerce segment the retailer of cosmetics and toiletries launched the website The Body Shop, has 110 stores across 37 cities in India and they plan to enter smaller towns like Patna, Shillong and other.

It’s after three years that The Body Shop has brought in a new brand ambassador. It was in November 2011 that the brand had roped in Dia mirza as their brand ambassador. Forest Essentials, Shahnaz Husain and Boutique, some of the major competitors of The Body Shop do not have a brand ambassador. Fernandez won the title of Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 .

The international headquarter of The Body Shop is in West Sussex, England, The brand was founded in 1976 by Anita Roddick and now part owned by parent company  L’Oreal corporate group. The brand has franchised stores in 61 countries.
