It’s once again the night of ‘portfolios’

Post its great response in 2010, Ogilvy India both under the scanner of Portfolio Night 2011. The event was held on May 26, 2011 in Mumbai. This event is in its ninth year however, in India this is the second edition of the launch.

Portfolio Night 9 was open to young creative professionals from advertising agencies and also senior students of art colleges. Participants (creative professionals who have a portfolio of work they want reviewed) will have to register on the Portfolio Night website, Ihaveanidea, the world’s first and largest community of the international advertising industry and the originators of the exceptional idea of Portfolio Night.

This year saw in total 27 creative directors from India mentoring aspiring creatives. The senior creative directors that were present at the evening included Piyush Pandey, Abhijit Avasthi, Rajiv Rao, Sumanto Chattopadhyay, Zenobia Pithawalla, Ajay Gahlaut, Anup Chitnis, Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar, Agnello Dias, Santosh Padhi, Ashish Khazanchi, V Sunil, Sajan Raj Kurup, Vikram Gaikwad, K V Sridhar, Amit Akali, Malvika Mehra, Arun Iyer, Amer Jaleel, Satbir Singh, Raghu Bhat, Ashish Chakravarty, KS Chakravathy, Bobby Pawar, Manish Bhatt, Ramanuj Shastri, Rensil D'silva and Prasoon Pandey.

The event has simultaneously taken place across a number of cities around the world, including Amsterdam, Athens, Austin, Budapest, Chicago, Dublin, Helsinki, Istanbul, Los Angeles, Madrid, Milan, Montreal, New York, Paris, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Stockholm and Toronto.

Ogilvy India’s main sponsor for Portfolio Night 9 is Vodafone, while co-sponsors are Tata Sky and Fevicol.

Kicking off in 2002, Portfolio Night is ihaveanidea’s annual event, where advertising’s top creative talents come together to review the portfolios of students, juniors and creative hopefuls in an exciting and engaging environment. For agency creative directors, Portfolio Night is a chance to give back to the advertising community, and to meet or recruit the most talented young people trying to enter the business. Since its inception, Portfolio Night has always been held on one evening, simultaneously in all cities.
