It’s official: SMG launches MediaVest Worldwide in India

Starcom MediaVest Group has finally announced its decision to launch MediaVest Worldwide in India. With Dinesh Singh Rathore as the agency’s head, MediaVest will begin operations from Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.

exchange4media had reported the development on March 13, 2009. Founding clients of MediaVest Worldwide India include Cadila, Color Plus Fashions, Essar Retail, JK Ansell, and the Richemont Group – a robust combination of local, regional and global assignments. Other key MediaVest clients around the world include Avon, Coca-Cola Company, Comcast, Kraft, Mars/Masterfoods, and Walmart.

SMG officials have informed that MediaVest will also open offices in Delhi and Ahmedabad shortly. India is the 29th country that the global MediaVest network is now operational in.

Dinesh Singh Rathore, who has so far been General Manager for FutureWorks, has been named General Manager, India-West for MediaVest Worldwide and will be the senior MediaVest leader. He will be reporting to Ravi Kiran, CEO-South Asia, Starcom MediaVest Group.

In a prepared statement, Ravi Kiran said, “MediaVest has all the ingredients in India to make it successful - the scale and goodwill of India Media Exchange, all the powerful tools of the group such as TARDIIS, M*Orchestra, StarScape, Abacus, all specialist disciplines such as entertainment, sports, digital, OOH, retail branding and small town marketing and a robust talent pool to draw from. I can’t think of a better time than now to launch it.”

With the addition of India, MediaVest network now operates in 29 countries around the world, including seven in Asia. The brand has dominating presence in several emerging and established markets around the world, including the US and Russia. The MediaVest New York operation is the single largest office across the SMG global network.
