And the spotlight this time around is on India with 30 nominations in different categories, though Australia leads the pack with almost 45 nominations.
Charlie Crow, CEO, C-Squared said, “In the last three years of running Festival of Media Awards, India typically has one of the highest conversion rates. I think this goes on to prove how creative India as a nation is not only in Asia but also in the world.”
When it comes to the maximum number of nominations, Mindshare holds the ground.
Anupriya Acharya, Leader, Client Leadersip, South Asia, Mindshare stated that great work was always happening in India but it required good packaging. “If great work is not packaged and the stories are not well told, then it becomes very tough to comprehend at a global level for the international jury.”
Mallikarjunadas CR, CEO, Starcom Mediavest shared that the recognition to India was due for a long time now. “If you look at the trust on name and product, it is increasing in India. I think people are moving out of the obvious vanilla stuff.”
The jury is chaired by Leonardo O'Grady, Director ASEAN Integrated Marketing Communications, Coca-Cola. More than 50 eminent personalities from across the globe are part of the jury.
Priti Murthy, National Director Insights at Maxus spoke about the quality of entries from India, “The quality was as always global and at par with any country – articulate, focussing on insights and results.”
