Maxus has added more business from the Essar Group to its kitty. As is known, Essar was a Maxus client for the erstwhile Essar SpaceTel business, and in 2006, Starcom Worldwide won the Essar Retail Telecom, which is the mobile stores division of the group. Essar now is in aggressive mode again, and is looking at releasing communication for its corporate business. Maxus has won this bid. The account size is expected to be Rs 35 crore.

Neither Maxus nor Essar officials were available at the time of filing this report but sources close to the development inform that the corporate side of the account would include global releases and other Essar investments in the country, and Maxus would be looking at the media duties for this activity. Starcom Worldwide continues to handle the business for Essar Retail Telecom.

Maxus’ Mumbai team including Karthik Sharma is working on the business. The agency has already begun work on the forthcoming campaign from Essar.
