I will miss the warmth & wit of Bal: Arvind Wable

All of us at Draftfcb Ulka are deeply saddened at the loss of Bal. We will miss him immensely.

Unlike the other members of the Management Board in Mumbai, I was in Delhi and used to receive regular memos from Bal. Each letter was beautifully crafted and with a sharp bite when things were not going right. Every stinker was followed by a phone calI in which Bal was so warm and caring, as if nothing was amiss.

I will miss the warmth and wit that Bal was so full of whenever I met him, the last time being at his book launch during the recent AdAsia 2011.

Bal Mundkur, the man who set up Ulka Advertising 50 years ago, passed away on the morning of January 7, 2012 at his residence in Goa following a heart attack.
