Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) has empanelled agencies for its advertising business. Apart from retaining Mudra and JWT, the petroleum major has added O&M to its list. Industry sources peg the account in the range of Rs 60 crore.
With the contract with Mudra and JWT coming to an end, HPCL had floated tender, inviting agencies to pitch for the business. Apart from Mudra, O&M and JWT, agencies like Grey, Bates and R K Swamy/BBDO were also a part of this pitch.
Even as HPCL officials confirm the development, they express that the allocation of brands to the agencies hasn't yet taken place. HPCL officials express that given the sensitivities of conflicting accounts present in the deal with the agencies, HPCL would decide on what business to assign to whom next week.
The pitch was for the complete HPCL business, which includes lubricants and the retail businesses. It was called last month and the processes were completed last week.
